If the author was going for farcical, then he achieved it. If you like something cosy then you may enjoy. I wouldn't describe as a page turner. This book was fun to read, but still actually had a story. Most of the charaters, except for the "hero," were absurd but still both funny and necessary to the story. I ll read more of Ian Moore's books.
