The story of how Bandon came to be is well told. The details of how each hole came to be is really enjoyable if you have any golf design blood in you. More pictures of the holes and pictures of the early drawings would have really helped, but on the whole - well done.What turned me off was all the praise for Keiser building a great course for the every day golfer - the non country club member. "This course was going to be different because it isn't about the money." Is repeated over and over and it's complete BS.He built an incredible golf course, but the walking rate to play Bandon in the summer is $325.The maintenance costs for the course is less than most $85 per round courses. They are charging $325 and making a killing. Good for them. But don't pretend like you have sacrificed profits for the average golfer because you haven't.It tarnishes the rest of the story which is a shame. This book was written for golfers who are interested in their sport, in particular documenting recent changes golf course architectural philosophy which have been gradually influencing the designs of many modern golf courses, making them more closely resemble the classic course designs in the early years of golf.
